Adobe is partnering with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group to bring a browsable library of licensed music clips to Premiere mobile. The company says the feature is coming soon and will include popular songs from leading artists, though no musicians have been named yet.
Users will be able to search, preview and filter tracks by artist, genre or duration, save favorites, and explore collections selected by music labels. They can add up to 60 seconds of a track to a video, or start with customizable templates that already include music.
Finished videos can be exported from Premiere mobile and posted to licensed social platforms. Universal Music Group’s Bryan Stone said the partnership is intended to give creators new ways to build videos around music while helping artists and songwriters reach new audiences.
Premiere mobile and the desktop Premiere Pro app already offer royalty-free music, but licensed tracks currently have to be imported manually. Adobe’s planned library is designed to make recognizable music easier to use in mobile edits.
