AMD reported record revenue of $13.4 billion for the third quarter of 2026, which CEO Lisa Su described during Tuesday’s earnings call as the company’s largest and most profitable quarter to date. The company expects revenue to rise to another record of $17 billion next quarter.

Data centers accounted for $8.5 billion of Q3 revenue, or roughly 63 percent of AMD’s total. The business drove most of the quarterly increase: overall revenue rose by $1.9 billion, while data center revenue grew by $1.8 billion.

Su said AMD expects revenue to grow by more than 80 percent in 2027, with data centers making the largest contribution. CFO Jean Hu said the business could represent more than 80 percent of total company revenue beyond 2027.

The results contrast with a downturn in AMD’s gaming business, which brought in $773 million, down 40 percent from a year earlier. Su said higher component costs were affecting system prices and making consumers more cautious, contributing to slower sales. AMD is planning for a weaker year in 2027 in that environment.
