Apple’s AirPods 5 include active noise cancellation (ANC) in both available models, bringing the feature to the full lineup. The standard-case version costs $129, while a $149 option comes with a wireless charging case compatible with Apple Watch chargers, Qi chargers and USB-C.

After a month of testing, the reviewer recommends paying the additional $20 for the wireless-case model. It offers up to five hours of earbud battery life and up to 22 hours with the case—one hour and two hours more, respectively, than the $129 version. The reviewer says that matches the battery life of the AirPods 4 without ANC, despite the AirPods 5’s noise cancellation.

The review describes the AirPods 5 as an improvement over their predecessor and notes that they bring more of Apple’s audio features at a lower price. However, the reviewer would still pay more for the AirPods Pro 3, citing differences in noise cancellation, fit and controls.
