Apple CEO John Ternus says the company cannot yet predict when iPhone Duo supply will catch up with demand. In an interview with Reuters, he said Apple is working to get the foldable phone to customers as quickly as possible, but does not know when supply and demand will be balanced.

Apple launched the iPhone Duo last month at a starting price of $1,999. Its 5.4-inch outer display and 7.6-inch inner screen drew enough interest for preorders to sell out quickly, with some deliveries expected in 2027. Apple also had a limited number of units available in stores at launch.

Ternus also addressed reports of cracked screens, saying that only “a very small percentage” of iPhone Duos had been returned for that issue and that Apple is replacing them.

The company has faced supply-chain constraints and rising memory costs. Ternus described current memory pricing as “unprecedented” during Apple’s fourth-quarter 2026 earnings call and said costs are expected to rise further in the December quarter, partly offset by recent price increases.
