Apple could launch up to three new iPad models early next year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The expected range would cover the base iPad, the mid-range iPad Air and the high-end iPad Pro, following the recent release of the new iPad mini.

The standard iPad is reportedly set to receive Apple Intelligence support through an A19 processor and 8GB of RAM. It could also include Apple’s N1 chip and C1X modem, bringing support for Wi-Fi 7, sub-6 GHz 5G, higher speeds and lower battery consumption.

The iPad Air may gain an OLED display, bringing it in line with the iPad mini, as well as the usual processor improvements. The report does not specify which chip would power the updated model.

The iPad Pro is expected to receive an upgrade from the current M5 processor. Apple could use an M6 chip or a future M7 processor, although the report presents those possibilities as uncertain. The new model may also feature a vapor chamber to improve heat management, particularly during artificial-intelligence workloads.

The launches would expand Apple’s tablet lineup as the iPhone Duo and new touchscreen MacBook Pro models could compete for some of the same buyers. Despite that overlap, iPads remain an important part of Apple’s product range, with the company selling around 60 million units per year, according to the report.
