Bose’s first-generation QuietComfort Headphones are on sale for $169.99 at Amazon, Best Buy and Bose. That’s $190 off and matches their lowest price to date. The second-generation model, launched in August, is also discounted to $199 in multiple colors at the same retailers, $160 off and $20 above its all-time low.
Although the original model is no longer Bose’s latest, it offers noise cancellation, 24-hour battery life and multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, which lets users connect to two devices at once. Its lightweight, foldable design also makes it easier to pack.
The second-generation headphones add a few upgrades for $30 more at the current sale price. Reviewer John Higgins said their default sound profile was the best he had heard from Bose, including compared with the $449 QuietComfort Ultra Gen 2. They also support lossless audio over USB-C. Higgins found that vocals could sound somewhat muted, but said he was able to address this using the three-band equalizer in Bose’s companion app. He also found them more comfortable than the Ultra, citing the absence of the ear-pressure sensation he describes as “eardrum suck.”
