Minha Melhor Amiga is now available on Netflix. The film, which stars Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, joined the platform’s catalog on Monday, November 2, after its theatrical release on September 3.

According to Brazil’s National Cinema Agency (Ancine), the production attracted more moviegoers than other recent national successes, including Ainda Estou Aqui, released in 2024, and O Agente Secreto, from 2025. The report describes it as the Brazilian film with the highest cinema attendance since 2019.

Directed by Susana Garcia, who also directed Minha Vida em Marte, the movie follows friends Júlia and Clara, played by Mônica Martelli and Ingrid Guimarães. After their daughters, Manu and Isadora, leave for an exchange program in Portugal, the two women find themselves with an empty house.

While dealing with dissatisfaction in their marriages and careers at age 50, Júlia and Clara decide to travel to Europe to visit the girls. What was planned as a perfect vacation together soon goes off course, as the reality of the trip differs from their expectations.

Garcia co-wrote the screenplay with Patricia Leme. Minha Melhor Amiga is among Netflix’s releases for the week, alongside titles such as the wedding episode of Casamento às Cegas, the second season of Black Doves and the drama series Amor Possível. The platform is also adding the film O Natal Perfeito de um Cachorro and the series Bass Ex Machina.
