Early Black Friday discounts are already available on several espresso machines tested and recommended by WIRED. With Thanksgiving approaching, buying early could give new owners time to learn how to prepare espresso, cappuccino and other milk-based drinks before hosting guests.

The Breville Barista Express is $200 off in its black and stainless steel finishes. WIRED previously considered the semiautomatic machine its top pick for years. Although it was later surpassed by Fellow’s Series 1, the Barista Express remains popular for its durability and design. One WIRED contributor has reportedly used the machine successfully for seven years.

Meraki is also discounted by $200. The design-focused semiautomatic machine uses a dual-boiler system, allowing users to froth milk while extracting espresso, and includes an integrated conical burr grinder. WIRED noted concerns about maintenance, including a complicated descaling process.

The Diletta Mio is $200 off and remains WIRED’s favorite traditional espresso machine. The Italian-made model has an analog construction and includes a PID temperature controller to help maintain stable brewing temperatures. It does not include a grinder, so buyers will need a separate one.

Casabrews’ 5700 PRO is discounted by $50. WIRED contributing reviewer Pete Cottell, a former barista, uses the simple semiautomatic machine at home. It features an integrated grinder, straightforward controls and a functional milk frother. Because it has a single boiler, it cannot froth milk and extract espresso simultaneously.

The Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ is also $50 off. WIRED named it its favorite pod machine for espresso, emphasizing that it has virtually no learning curve. While Vertuo pods do not produce traditional espresso, the review praised the resulting drink’s body and mouthfeel. This bundle includes the Aeroccino 3 milk frother, listed as having a $100 value.

All of the featured machines were tested by WIRED reviewers and personally recommended. The discounts are presented as early Black Friday offers, ahead of Thanksgiving.
