Enough Phone is betting that people who say they want smaller smartphones will be willing to buy one. The company is due to begin taking preorders today for its first device, built around a 5.3-inch display that it describes as the smallest it could find with suitable performance metrics.
The phone is not designed to compete with flagship specifications. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 processor, 8GB of memory, 128GB of storage with microSD support, and a single 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 rear camera. Its front camera is 32 megapixels, and the device has a polycarbonate body and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button.
The 5.3-inch LCD has a resolution of 1520 by 720 pixels. Measuring 133 by 64 by 12 millimeters, the phone has a footprint close to that of the iPhone 13 Mini, though it is thicker. That added thickness accommodates a 3,500mAh battery that users can replace themselves after removing a few screws from the back cover. The company says the battery capacity could still change.
Buyers will be able to choose between a Google-certified version of Android 17 and OdysseyOS, a streamlined, de-Googled Android option that is designed to work more like a basic phone and does not include a browser. Other listed features include 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, and support for both a physical SIM and eSIM.
Enough Phone is priced at $399 for a limited time, with a stated suggested retail price of $599. The company has not settled details including waterproofing and durability ratings. The device will be unlocked, and the company says it is aiming for broad global carrier support, but compatibility with restrictive carriers such as Verizon remains uncertain.
