A physical mockup of the Galaxy S27 Ultra offers an early look at how Samsung’s next premium phone may compare with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro. Its most noticeable change is a horizontal rear camera bar, replacing the separate camera layout shown on the S26 Ultra and bearing some resemblance to Apple’s design, according to Android Headlines.
The publication created the demonstrative model from CAD files released earlier. It has no display, battery or internal components, so it cannot confirm the finished phone’s details. The mockup measures 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97 mm, slightly larger than the reported Galaxy S26 Ultra dimensions of 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9 mm.
The camera bar could leave more room for integrated magnets and make it easier to attach wireless-charging accessories. Android Headlines reports that the S26 Ultra’s camera module can interfere with magnetic power banks and similar accessories. Samsung has not confirmed that the S27 Ultra will include magnets, however, and the design alone does not establish that it will support accessories similar to MagSafe.
The changed camera cutout may also mean that cases made for the Galaxy S26 Ultra will not fit its successor. The mockup appears to rock less on a table than the previous model, but that comparison is inconclusive because the demonstrative piece does not have the phone’s actual weight.
Rumors also suggest Samsung could remove the S26 Ultra’s 3x optical-zoom telephoto camera. The reported S27 Ultra setup would have three rear sensors: a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x zoom. The model retains a bottom-left S Pen slot and volume and power buttons on the right side.
Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The available information points to a possible Galaxy S27 series unveiling in January or February 2027, but the design and hardware may change before the final version is revealed.
