God of War Laufey will arrive on May 20, 2027, three months later than originally planned. Santa Monica Studio announced the delay, moving the PS5 exclusive’s release from February 16 so the team can complete final work on the game.
In a social media post, the studio thanked players for their response since the game was revealed in June. It said it would use the additional time to add the finishing touches and push the game to its fullest potential.
The game stars Faye, whose death before the events of God of War (2018) sets that story in motion. In Laufey, she awakens in the afterlife and begins an adventure that unfolds alongside the journeys of Kratos and Atreus in God of War and God of War Ragnarök.
