GoPro has partnered with Italian helmet maker AGV to develop a motorcycle helmet with a built-in camera and rider-assistance features. The companies announced the collaboration on Monday, November 2, and say the product is expected to launch in 2027.

A promotional video suggests the camera could sit discreetly below the visor and record footage from the rider’s perspective. The helmet may also include a head-up display, or HUD, integrated into its front section to show navigation guidance and safety alerts, according to specialist site Newshooter.

The reported concept also involves microphones and acoustic sensors aimed toward the rear of the motorcycle. These could work with artificial intelligence to identify traffic sounds and display visual blind-spot alerts in the visor. GoPro has not confirmed complete technical specifications for the system.

The partnership brings together GoPro’s experience with action cameras and AGV’s background in motorcycle helmets. GoPro said the project combines AGV’s design and safety heritage with its own engineering and digital imaging expertise.

Pricing has not been announced. People interested in the helmet can register for GoPro’s testing program by providing their helmet size and social media profiles.
