The device is intended to extend a router’s coverage into rooms where the signal is weak. The original report also lists the Strong N300 as an alternative on Amazon for €14.99.

The RE300 supports simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connections, with a combined theoretical speed of up to 1,200 Mbps: up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. It is compatible with TP-Link OneMesh, which can combine the repeater and a compatible router under one network name and password, allowing connected devices to move between access points.

Setup involves plugging the repeater into a power outlet and pressing the WPS button on both it and the router. A front LED helps indicate where the device receives a suitable signal. The RE300 does not include an Ethernet port, so it may not suit users who want a wired connection for a computer or console.
