Micromania has temporarily increased its trade-in prices for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles ahead of the November 19 release of GTA 6. The promotion runs from November 2 through November 16 and pays the same amount in cash or store credit, without requiring customers to buy another console at the same time.
Under the promotion, a PS5 Slim is valued at €475, while a PS5 Slim Digital Edition and the first PS5 Digital Edition are valued at €425 and €375 respectively. The PS5 Pro with a disc drive reaches €730, and the standard PS5 Pro is valued at €700.
The PS5 Pro has seen the largest increase compared with Micromania’s July trade-in schedule, rising from €600 in store credit to €700 in November. The standard PS5 Slim has increased from €450 to €475. Micromania’s figures also remove the usual 15% reduction applied to cash trade-ins, making cash and credit values identical during the offer.
Xbox consoles have received even larger increases. The Xbox Series X is valued at €500, compared with €300 in July, while the digital Series X reaches €475. The Xbox Series S 1TB and 500GB models are valued at €320 and €285 respectively.
Nintendo Switch consoles are excluded from this specific promotion. Micromania is instead offering a separate trade-in deal linked to the purchase of a new Switch 2, also valid until November 16.
The higher values reflect tight availability and rising prices for current-generation consoles, according to the source report. The PS5 Pro is described as particularly difficult to find and is currently unavailable through Sony’s PlayStation Direct store. The report also notes that Micromania valued an Xbox Series X at €280 a year ago, compared with €500 under the current promotion.
GTA 6 will launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, with no PC version available at launch. The Micromania offer ends three days before release, allowing the traded-in consoles to return to the retailer’s second-hand inventory just as demand for the game and holiday purchases increases.
