The Motorola Razr Fold delivered strong battery results in Canaltech’s tests, remaining away from a charger for more than a day and still retaining 15% of its charge. The foldable phone also showed low consumption during continuous video playback.
The evaluation used two scenarios: four hours of YouTube playback under controlled conditions and several days of regular use involving social media, messaging, music and other applications.
During the controlled test, the Razr Fold consumed 20% of its battery after four hours of YouTube videos. Maintaining the same rate would suggest around 20 hours of playback on a single charge, although this is only a mathematical projection and actual endurance may vary.
In everyday use, the phone was unplugged at 6:13 a.m. with a full charge and had 60% remaining at 8:33 p.m. after 14 hours and 20 minutes. The most demanding applications during that period included Positivo Casa Inteligente, TikTok, Instagram and Threads, while WhatsApp, ChatGPT and Spotify were also used.
The longest test began at 6:18 a.m. with 100% battery. At 9:56 p.m., after nearly 16 hours, the phone still had about half of its charge. It was left unplugged overnight and reached 15% at 10:47 a.m. the following day.
In total, the Razr Fold remained away from the charger for 28 hours and 29 minutes, consuming 85% of its battery. Instagram accounted for 12% of consumption, followed by Threads at 7%. ChatGPT, WhatsApp and Spotify each used 5%, while TikTok, Positivo and Telegram also appeared among the applications used.
The 28-hour result includes periods when the screen was off, particularly overnight, so it does not represent continuous screen-on time. Even so, the tests indicate that the Motorola Razr Fold can last through a full day of use and extend well into the following day without requiring an overnight recharge.
