The official Pokémon website in Japan has initiated a curious countdown that displays pocket monsters in descending order, leading up to November 30, 2026. The sequence begins with creature number 1025, representing the total quantity of known species, with a different monster appearing on screen every hour. Calculations indicate the countdown will end at 11:00 AM Brasília time on the last day of the month, a slot that has become customary for recent Pokémon Presents events dedicated to revealing games and franchise news.

Community speculation suggests this countdown serves as a precursor to a new trailer or presentation focused on Pokémon Winds & Waves. This title was previously shown in February 2026 alongside another upcoming game, with both confirmed to receive Brazilian Portuguese localization. Since that initial reveal, there has been no official announcement regarding the tenth generation of games, nor any predicted release date.

Some observers believe the countdown may also signal the arrival of remakes for Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald on the Nintendo Switch. These titles would complement FireRed and LeafGreen, which were released earlier in the year and are necessary to complete the National Pokédex with its 386 creatures. Even Joe Merrick, administrator of the long-standing fan site Serebii, admitted on social media that it remains uncertain what will be revealed when the timer reaches zero.

If a new presentation occurs, public interest is heavily focused on Pokémon Winds & Waves, which is expected to be the first title released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. Beyond potential remakes and this mainline entry, fans anticipate new spin-offs similar to those seen on the original Switch, such as the new Pokémon Snap and the remaster of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. There is also discussion regarding a return for the Pokémon Ranger series, potentially utilizing the mouse function of the Joy-Con 2, or a revival of the tactical RPG Pokémon Conquest, inspired by recent successes in similar genres.

However, no projects have been officially disclosed by the company. Current leaks from Game Freak only highlight new mechanics and gyms for Winds & Waves, as well as plans for future Pokémon Legends titles, without providing a timeline for their official announcement.
