Netflix is testing AI Discover, an experimental space designed to help viewers find something to watch without spending as much time browsing the service. The feature uses real-time AI to tailor suggestions to factors such as a viewer’s mood, available time and who they are watching with, rather than relying only on viewing history.

Its interface presents dynamic carousels and situation-based categories, including options such as “Scare Me” and “Family Movie Night,” alongside quick suggestions. Viewers who want alternatives to the initial picks can select “Something Different” to move away from more predictable recommendations.

Each title also includes a “Refine Your Recommendation” feedback option. Netflix says the tool records when a user rejects a title and uses that response to adjust subsequent suggestions.

The test is currently restricted to a small group of subscribers in the United States who use the app in English. Netflix says data gathered during this phase is for testing navigation and does not directly affect content acquisition plans. The company has not announced a wider rollout.
