The first trailer for Lords of War, the sequel to the 2005 film Lord of War, was released on November 4, 2026. Andrew Niccol returns as writer and director, with Nicolas Cage reprising his role as arms dealer Yuri Orlov.
In the new film, Yuri discovers he has a son, Anton, played by Bill Skarsgård. Anton has built a mercenary army amid U.S. wars in the Middle East and aims to outdo his father. Their rivalry puts family ambition and betrayal at the heart of a story about the global arms trade.
The roughly one-minute trailer features explosions, mercenaries and a confrontation between Yuri and Anton. The film also stars Laura Harrier, Sylvia Hoeks and Greg Tarzan Davis. Cage and Niccol are among its producers, alongside Philippe Rousselet and Fabrice Gianfermi.
Lords of War is scheduled to open in French theaters on January 13, 2027, through SND. Its U.S. theatrical release, distributed by Vertical, is set for January 22.
