“The Others,” Alejandro Amenábar’s 2001 psychological horror film starring Nicole Kidman, has found a new audience on streaming 25 years after its release. The film entered AMC+’s U.S. top 10 after arriving on the platform, according to FlixPatrol data, outperforming newer titles on the service.

In Brazil, the film is available on Cindie, a channel within Prime Video, and on Claro TV+. Its story follows Grace (Kidman), who lives with her children, Anne and Nicholas, in an isolated mansion near the end of World War II while waiting for her missing husband to return.

Because the children have a rare condition that prevents them from being exposed to light, Grace keeps the house dark and enforces strict rules. The routine is disrupted when three new servants arrive and strange events begin, including doors opening on their own and mysterious voices. As Grace tries to protect her children, she uncovers unsettling secrets about the house.

The film builds tension through its gothic atmosphere and confined setting rather than relying on frequent jump scares. Its gradual revelations lead to a major twist, while Kidman’s performance anchors the story.
