The base iPhone 18 could arrive with a larger battery and Apple’s new 2-nanometer A20 chip, alongside a higher price, according to a post by leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, reported by 9to5Mac. The phone is also said to miss out on the smaller Dynamic Island expected on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
Digital Chat Station attributes the possible price increase to rising RAM costs but did not say how much more the iPhone 18 might cost. Apple raised prices for its older models, including the iPhone 17, by $100 in September, according to the report.
The base iPhone 18 was not part of Apple’s fall iPhone launch event. The leaker claims it will arrive early next year alongside a second-generation iPhone Air and the iPhone 18e, in line with previous reports.
