Samsung is reportedly planning to reorganize its television catalog into three tiers: AI TV Basic, AI TV Plus and AI TV Ultra. According to ETNews, the new naming system could be introduced in 2027.

The structure would resemble the company’s approach to the Galaxy S smartphone range, which uses Basic, Plus and Ultra-style distinctions to separate models. For TVs, the system could make it easier for customers to identify entry-level, mid-range and premium products without relying as heavily on technical display terms such as OLED and Neo QLED.

The use of “AI” in the names would also reflect Samsung’s effort to establish artificial intelligence across its product portfolio. The company’s televisions already include features such as the Vision AI Companion assistant and automatic adjustments powered by AI.

The reported reorganization comes as Samsung plans to end mass production of QLED TVs in 2027 and focus more on Mini LED and Micro LED technologies. Changing the naming structure could help reposition the models offered under that strategy.

Under the reported plan, the AI TV Ultra tier would include televisions with the most powerful hardware and advanced display technologies, including OLED and Micro RGB models. AI TV Basic would cover more affordable Mini LED televisions, while the Plus tier would target mid-range devices. Crystal UHD TVs would remain a separate category.
