Samsung smart TVs typically come with the most popular streaming services already installed, including Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video and Apple TV, though the exact lineup can vary by region. For apps that are not preloaded, users can add them through the TV's built-in search feature.
To install a new app, users open the home screen, select the search bar with the remote and type in the app's name. If the app does not show up, it may not be available in that region or may not be supported by Samsung smart TVs; Samsung has also publicly banned some smart TV apps. Once the app icon appears, selecting it installs the app. Users who do not have a specific app in mind can browse a category-sorted selection in the TV's apps menu.
After an app finishes installing, a button to add it to the home screen should appear. If the user has already navigated away, the app can still be pinned later by opening the apps menu on the home screen, pressing and holding the app and choosing the option to add it to the home screen.
Apps already on the home screen can be rearranged. Users select the app they want to move and press and hold the select button to open a menu; older TV models may require a different command, such as pressing the down key. Selecting the move setting allows individual apps to be slid left and right. The same menu can be used to remove an app from the home screen or delete it entirely.
