Google is marking the imminent release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remaster with a temporary Easter egg that recreates the look of its search engine in 1998, the year Nintendo released the original game for the Nintendo 64.

To activate it, users can search Google for either “Zelda” or “Ocarina of Time.” The regular 2026 results page appears with an animated Master Sword in the lower-right corner. The feature is available on both mobile and desktop devices; clicking the sword starts the animation.

The page then shifts through a time-travel-themed sequence accompanied by a familiar Link shout before adopting a simpler design with blue links and retro Google branding. The presentation echoes Ocarina of Time’s own time-shifting mechanics.

Unlike the original Google search format, which typically displayed 10 links per page, the Easter egg contains seven selected links rather than live search results. The list includes Nintendo’s official Zelda page, Zelda’s Wikipedia entry and Zelda games available on Amazon.
