Snap said more than 30 million users now pay for one of its subscription plans, including Snapchat+ and its ad-free Platinum tier. The company shared the figure in its third-quarter earnings report, alongside an 84% year-over-year increase in revenue from its non-advertising “other” category.

Snap launched Snapchat+ in 2022 with extras such as the ability to see which friends had rewatched a user’s Story. It has since introduced Lens+, which offers AI-powered augmented-reality effects, Platinum, which removes ads, and paid storage for Memories.

The company did not provide subscriber numbers for each plan, but said Lens+ has grown nearly 600% since January 2026. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said AI features, including the AI Photoshoot photo-editing tool, had helped Lens+ outperform expectations and showed that new creative experiences could boost demand for paid products.

Subscriptions were a positive area in a quarter when Snap said advertising revenue was growing below its ambitions. The company added 2 million daily users since the previous quarter and said it would shift to reporting monthly active users in 2027. Snapchat currently has 977 million monthly users.

Snap also warned that lawsuits and increased regulatory scrutiny related to youth issues could affect its prospects. The company is facing legal claims over alleged safety problems, while state attorneys general have urged it to adopt additional safety features.
