Timex has launched a special edition timepiece inspired by Snoopy from the Peanuts comic strip, featuring a winter theme and a unique "surprise snow" detail concealed within the display's illumination. The Peanuts x Timex Weekender Puffy Coat is priced at US$189 and is currently available for purchase on the brand's official website.
The model blends an illustration of Snoopy bundled up in winter gear with traditional features of the Weekender line. The dial showcases a navy blue background with cream-colored numerals and a central image of Snoopy wearing a red puffy coat and a winter hat. This design is complemented by a natural blue leather strap featuring red stitching along the sides, matching the overall color palette.
The watch case measures 40mm in diameter and 10mm in thickness, with a lug-to-lug distance of 47.5mm. Constructed from low-lead brass with a polished silver finish, the timepiece weighs approximately 54 grams. The back of the case includes an engraved detail featuring other characters from Peanuts, extending the collaboration beyond the dial to honor the group created by Charles Schulz.
The primary differentiator of the Weekender Puffy Coat is its Indiglo technology. When the crown is pressed to activate the backlight, a pattern of falling snow is revealed in the background behind Snoopy. Additionally, the hands and hour markers are coated with luminescent material, allowing for time reading in low-light conditions even without activating the main illumination.
Powered by a CR2016 battery, the watch utilizes an analog quartz movement protected by mineral glass designed for durability. It offers water resistance up to 50 meters, making it suitable for rain, splashes, and light aquatic activities such as swimming. However, Timex advises against using the accessory for diving or snorkeling and recommends not pressing the crown while submerged to maintain the seal against water ingress.
