After years of attracting attention, Witchbrook is moving closer to release. Chucklefish revealed the launch date alongside a new gameplay trailer shown during the latest Nintendo Indie World presentation.

The PlayStation 5 version has now been confirmed, joining the previously announced releases for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox. Witchbrook will also be available through Xbox Game Pass from its first day.

Players take on the role of a young witch beginning life at Witchbrook College, located in the coastal city of Mossport. Progression involves attending classes, completing assignments and studying subjects such as Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot and Rituals. Exams and new spells are part of the path towards graduation.

Life outside the classroom is equally important. Mossport offers activities including fishing, birdwatching, bug catching and seasonal events. Players can join clubs, build relationships with the local community and even start a small business using magical abilities to provide services.

The game also focuses on customization. Players can renovate their woodland cabin, improve its garden and alter their character’s appearance with different clothes, hairstyles and accessories. Mossport’s residents follow their own routines, which may change with the weather and the seasons, while relationships can develop into lasting friendships or romances.

Witchbrook will support online cooperative play for up to four participants. Friends can attend classes, explore the city and pursue activities together, while each player retains the freedom to follow their own pace.

The new trailer showcases lessons, spellcasting, learning systems, potion preparation and Tarot readings. It also introduces some of the magical creatures, characters and stories that players can encounter as they build relationships with other students.

Developed by Chucklefish with assistance from Robotality, Witchbrook combines pixel art with life simulation, RPG elements and social features. It will be released on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, with Brazilian Portuguese localization alongside languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Korean.
