Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Nano controller may include a direct connection to Xbox Cloud Gaming over Wi-Fi, a feature intended to reduce latency. The capability is being privately tested on the new Xbox Cloud Gaming website and has not been officially announced by Microsoft.
To use the feature, players would pair the controller with Microsoft’s cloud gaming servers through the Xbox mobile app. It is expected to arrive first as a preview, with broader support for Xbox Cloud Gaming on the web and smart TVs to follow.
Microsoft had previously planned a direct-to-cloud feature for a controller codenamed Sebile, as part of an Xbox Series X refresh that was later canceled. The timing for a separate Xbox wireless controller with this functionality remains unclear.
