Apple Music is testing Selfie Sing, a feature that lets users record selfie videos while singing along to the instrumental version of a song. The mode has appeared in the iOS 27.3 beta and includes a playlist of tracks prepared for the feature.
Users can add microphone effects, replace their face with a Memoji and follow synchronized lyrics on screen. The resulting video can be shared on social media.
Selfie Sing is not available across the entire Apple Music catalog. The compatible playlist includes “Take On Me” by A-ha, “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys and “...Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears.
According to MacRumors, the feature is also expected to be released on Android. Selfie Sing builds on Apple Music’s Sing karaoke tools, which let listeners remove a song’s original vocals or turn them down so they can sing along. The new mode adds the option to record that performance as a video.
