Apple is reportedly preparing a renewal of its iPad lineup for the first half of 2027, with updates planned for the Air, Pro and entry-level models. The information comes from recent reports attributed to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The next iPad Air is expected to adopt an OLED display, a technology that has so far been reserved for the iPad Pro range. The iPad Pro, meanwhile, is reportedly set to move to Apple’s M6 chip and could include a vapor chamber to improve heat dissipation during demanding tasks.

Apple’s 12th-generation entry-level iPad is also expected to receive several upgrades. Reports point to the A19 chip, support for Apple Intelligence, Wi-Fi 7 and Apple’s C1X modem, described as more energy efficient.

The planned changes would bring features previously associated with higher-end models to a broader part of the iPad range. At the same time, the update would preserve a clear hierarchy between the different models, although some analysts question whether the product line is becoming too fragmented.
