The HP EliteBook X Flip G2i is a convertible laptop aimed at professionals who need a system for different work settings. Its 14-inch touchscreen folds back through 360 degrees, allowing it to be used as a conventional laptop, in tablet form or in tent mode for viewing and presentations.
The reviewed configuration has an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor with 16 cores and 16 threads, 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD and integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics. HP offers other configurations, so display and component specifications may differ. The memory is integrated and should not be treated as user-expandable.
The test unit’s 14-inch OLED touchscreen has a 3K resolution of 2880 × 1800 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The review describes its image as detailed, with vibrant colours and deep blacks. The laptop also includes a pen that can be used for up to 120 minutes; according to the review, 30 seconds stored in the chassis is enough to recharge it fully.
An aluminium chassis, a stable hinge and a reported weight of 1.29kg contribute to the convertible’s portable design. Other features include a 5MP infrared camera for Windows Hello facial recognition and four Poly Studio stereo speakers.
The Intel AI Boost NPU is rated for up to 50 TOPS. The integrated Arc B390 graphics are listed at up to 122 TOPS for INT8 operations, although these figures describe different processing engines and conditions and should not be added together. Which component handles an AI task depends on the application, drivers and model.
The review notes that tools such as LM Studio can run language models locally for tasks including summarising documents, answering questions about text and assisting with programming. What runs effectively depends on factors such as model size, quantisation and context length. The laptop’s 32GB of RAM is shared between the operating system, applications and graphics, so it is not all available to a model.
In synthetic tests, the system scored 2,726 in Cinebench 2026 multi-thread and 295 in single-thread. Geekbench 7.1.0 results were 2,480 for CPU single-core and 17,215 for multi-core, alongside 56,476 in GPU OpenCL and 48,715 in Vulkan. It scored 3,555 in Novabench. The review cautions that benchmark results do not replace testing with real applications.
The laptop has a 68Wh battery and charges over USB-C with a 65W adapter. In the review’s tests, a full charge took one hour, while continuous video playback lasted around four hours. Actual battery life will vary with the display, brightness, applications and workload.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-C port rated at 10Gbps, USB-A at 5Gbps, HDMI 2.1 and a combined headphone and microphone jack. The system is sold with Windows 11 Pro and HP Wolf Security for Business technologies; specific features may vary by configuration and included licences.
The HP EliteBook X Flip G2i is listed at €2,999, excluding VAT.
