Meta is winding down feature development for its Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets. The company says both devices will receive their final operating system updates in March 2027, followed by security patches and bug fixes through the end of the year.

December 2027 will be the deadline for developers to submit new apps for the headsets. Apps already available can still receive updates after Meta ends support, and users will continue to be able to purchase apps through the stores.

Cross-play with the Quest 3 and Quest 3S will also continue after the end of feature development. Meta said millions of people still use the Quest 2 and Quest Pro, released in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
