A review of Nintendo’s remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time gives the game a 10/10, arguing that the 1998 adventure’s design remains compelling when paired with modern presentation and controls. The remake is exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and keeps the original’s core structure largely intact.

The review highlights a major visual overhaul, detailed environments and character animations, and refreshed lighting. It also praises the cinematic presentation and newly orchestrated music. According to the review, the game runs at 60 frames per second, while updated controls include a jump button and full camera control. The French version is fully voiced, and Navi is described as a less intrusive companion.

Most of the adventure has been recreated on a 1:1 basis, with only limited changes such as additional chests, altered walls and expanded spaces. The main new area is an arena where players can face enemies and bosses they have already defeated. The review says these additions do not substantially change the experience, but considers the faithful approach a strength rather than a drawback.

The remake’s few shortcomings include the lack of a hard mode and Master Quest, as well as an awkward button choice for running. The reviewer nevertheless concludes that the original’s level design and progression still work exceptionally well, and that the modernization makes it accessible to both returning players and newcomers.
