Apple has added Siri Recap and Live Rewind to the watchOS 27.3 beta, making the two Audio Intelligence features available for testing on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. Apple first introduced them in September alongside the launch of those devices.
Siri Recap creates a title and key points from a conversation, which users can later find in the Siri app. Live Rewind turns the most recent 15 seconds of a conversation into text. Users can view the excerpt by double-pressing the Digital Crown, ask Siri about it, or save it for later.
Apple says the features do not record or store audio. The watches’ S11 chip processes audio separately from the rest of the device and deletes it immediately; according to Apple, neither its operating systems nor apps, users or the company can access the raw audio. Users can also opt out of individual features, some of which must be enabled manually.
Live Rewind plays a chime when activated, even if the watch is set to silent, and displays an animation and microphone indicator. Apple says Siri Recap will omit sensitive information such as financial details, and that Audio Intelligence does not identify speakers.
Using the features also requires a compatible iPhone with Apple Intelligence enabled: an iPhone 16 or later, excluding the iPhone 16e. Siri Recap and Live Rewind will initially be limited to English and unavailable in the EU. Daily usage limits also apply.
