AT&T’s Connected Life smart home security system now supports Gemini for Home, bringing AI-powered tools for reviewing activity captured by home security cameras. AT&T describes Connected Life as the first home security product to integrate with Google Home Premium.

Gemini for Home can provide detailed descriptions of camera events, including information such as who delivered a package and how many items were dropped off. Users can also search recorded footage with natural-language questions, such as asking what dug up the yard overnight or who let the dogs out, and review daily summaries of activity in and around their home.

The features are available only to customers with AT&T’s professional Connected Life monitoring plan, which costs $29.99 per month. AT&T is also adding an option to automatically arm or disarm the system based on a user’s proximity to home.

AT&T launched Connected Life last December in partnership with Google and Abode. The new features use Google’s Gemini-powered Home APIs, which let smart home companies and developers build AI-powered capabilities into their products.
