Apple brought in $114.5 billion in revenue from July through September, up 12% from the same quarter a year earlier. The iPhone was the largest product contributor, generating $57.6 billion—a 17% increase and a record for the September quarter. Mac revenue rose to $10.8 billion from $8.7 billion a year earlier, while Services generated $31.6 billion, up from $28.8 billion.

China was a notable source of growth. CEO John Ternus said revenue in the market increased 21% in the latest quarter, setting a record for Apple’s July–September period. He pointed to the iPhone and Mac as key contributors: iPhone sales continued their recent momentum, while Mac revenue in China grew at a double-digit rate.

The results follow two consecutive years of decline in China, according to the report. Ternus said the market has become a higher priority for Apple and noted that the company’s base, Pro and “e” iPhone models were the country’s top-selling smartphones by unit volume.

Apple’s product performance was mixed elsewhere. iPad revenue fell to $6.2 billion from $7 billion a year earlier, while revenue from Wearables, Home and Accessories declined 8% to $8.3 billion. The Mac, by contrast, grew 23.7% year over year in the latest quarter, following 28.7% growth in the previous quarter.

Apple’s fiscal quarter that began in October will include more of the initial sales period for its latest iPhones, alongside the 11 November shopping event and Black Friday. The source says the company’s next results will show whether China’s growth continues and whether Mac sales maintain their recent pace.
