Being ghosted during a job search means receiving no response from a company after applying or attending an interview. A website created to collect anonymous accounts of the experience has attracted thousands of reports from frustrated candidates.
Did They Ghost You, launched in June 2026, now has nearly 2,900 submissions, according to t3n. Some reports concern major US companies included in the S&P 500. The site was started by Canadian-based marketing professional Gary Meyer after friends told him they had heard nothing from employers following interviews.
Meyer originally intended the website as a light-hearted side project. But after sharing it on LinkedIn, people who had experienced job ghosting began visiting in large numbers. The site reportedly received more than two million visitors in its first few days.
Meyer reviews every submission personally and publishes only anonymized accounts. During peak periods in the summer, the site received five or six reports per minute. He told CNBC that the response had been overwhelming and that a number of submissions are still waiting to be approved.
Research cited by t3n suggests the problem is widespread. A Greenhouse survey of 1,200 US job candidates found that almost half had experienced job ghosting, including after being invited to one or more interviews. In Germany, an Indeed survey of 1,000 respondents found that 64 percent had received no reply after applying.
Meyer does not plan to turn Did They Ghost You into a Glassdoor-style platform. He says he hopes the problem will eventually be solved, making the website unnecessary.
